Barry Roche spent the first eight years of his career in the Royal Marines before founding his first company, which he took from start-up to market leader. In 2009, a significant increase in the profile and gravity of piracy sparked the inception of Protection Vessels International (PVI). After achieving undisputed market leadership in Maritime Security, Roche expanded the PVI model to create Protection Group International, (PGI). Roche's vision is to build a world-class Global brand as the leading trusted adviser for mitigating risk.
Brian Lord OBE
Managing Director, Cyber
Brian joined PGI in September 2013, after 21 years with GCHQ. Brian left GCHQ as their Deputy Director for Intelligence and Cyber Operations. Brian served in a wide range of roles for GCHQ, at home and abroad, and has deep experience drawn from many years’ experience across the breadth of Intelligence and Cyber operations. He is a leading thinker in the area of Cyber Warfare.
Chief Corporate Development Officer
Sebastian is a former UK senior civil servant with 21 years’ experience of national cyber security issues. Since joining PGI in 2013 he has led our international cyber capability building projects. He was previously a partner in a strategy consultancy firm and specialised in developing government cyber and national security structures. His senior UK government roles included Programme Director to establish UK central emergency response mechanisms, and Chief of Staff to the National Security Advisor.
Managing Director, Behavioural (JTiP)
Following a year in Southern Africa, John joined the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and served in Geneva, Moscow, Stockholm and New Delhi working on security and counter terrorist issues. John now works with law enforcement agencies and companies all over the world. John has authored a number of books on why people become disloyal and works closely with the Department of Psychology at University College London.
Managing Director, Intelligence
Beth heads PGI’s Intelligence Team, specialising in Geopolitical and Investigative Intelligence. Prior to arriving at PGI at the start of 2017, Beth founded and scaled a business intelligence company operating in ‘frontier’ markets including Libya, Egypt, Ghana and Myanmar. She has over a decade of experience supporting both corporate and government clients operating in complex environments and has lived and worked extensively in the Middle East, North Africa and South East Asia.
Sir Tim McClement KCB OBE
Vice Admiral Sir Tim McClement had a distinguished career serving in the Royal Navy which spanned 35 years from joining in 1971. His military service includes five command duties: two on submarines; two on frigates; and one as head of the Naval Task Group.
